I saw this on the news and had to share.

I also heard a old school civil rights worker say, "Barrack Obama is just as black as Hilary's husband."

What!???

Changes...kind of...
So after 6 years of marriage, I've now completely changed my name.
For most of the 6 years, I've been using my married name, but didn't complete all the paperwork until now. I've been using my maiden name at work and since I'm in a support roll at a huge company, I'm gonna have to send out a mass e-mail to anyone I can think of so that they can find me....
It's a little sad, because it is a change in identity. My husband gets a little annoyed, like he thinks I don't want or like his name, it's not that, I'm proud to have his name and the same name as my children, but it's kinda like giving up that thing that I share with my mom, dad, brother and sister...
The 5 of us were a unit for such a long time, you know...
Now the unit is expanded of course and I'm never really letting go of them nor them me.

It's just wierd, ya know...
To Phil: I always belonged to you and you to me....

TAAAIRD
So, our guest came and went. I didn't even say goodbye this morning since the boyz and I were dead to the world. The daddy escorted the hawaiians to Canada the past weekend, and because of childcare, sunday school, paperwork issues, I did not tag along.
We missed the daddy alot and missed his extra hands alot tooooo. I don't think the daddy will be vacationing without us anymore!
I can't believe that had enough room for 6 extra people to sleep over at our house. They were like ninja guests too, not a trace of them left, when I woke this morning. Sorry I didn't wake up to see you off. Till next time....
Thank you to Auntie Jayme, who spent Saturday with us and helped do Little Gym. I actually kept the house clean for the hawaiians return on Sunday and did all the laundry in the house, plus the folding. In 6 years in this house, this is the first time that laundry has been complete.
So, I should have just called in sick, but there were meetings to attend, things to do. It took me 1/2 hour to get the boyz out the door this morning and 1 hour to get my ass back home from the lola's house.
OK, back to work...Oh lunch might be good too!

I had to post this wierd thing...
There are doll artists that are called reborners, they make lifelike fake babies

Here is a clip from a documentary on fake babies
living doll

Some women treat these dolls like their real children. This can't be very healthy(mentally), can it?

Politics...
My husband has really been forcing me to be aware over the last 8 years. Aware of what is happening in our world. Not just watching the news, but investigating outside mainstream media and finding truth.

I take things hard and the truth has been depressing and hard to face. Sometimes he wants me to watch things and I just don't have the will to watch more bad news. He may think I'm being close minded and lazy, but the future that I'm seeing through all this awareness is one with no hope.

It's easier to stay in my bubble, go to work, come home to my boys, watch and listen to "news" about Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, entertain and occupy my time with TV shows and movies that won't matter in the end.
But the truth of it is, that I'm lying to myself by just staying in my bubble. Eventually, everything that is happening in the world right nowwill affect everyone.

So the point of this is, I need to start educating myself for the 2008 election and find the one person that represents my own voice. I encourage you to do the same.

YouTube has made it easy for us again.
Just click and watch and let the awareness wash over you....

Note: I'm an independant, although I've voted democrat for presidential election since I was 18. I'd love to see a woman or person of color as US President, but that person would have to be the best candidate. Ultimately, I'm looking for someone that can change the world for the better.

Philip showed me something last night that gave me a tiny bit of hope and that's all I've been asking for these past couple years. Ron Paul...and yeah, he is a republican.

Family Food Network
During our holiday break, we went over to Junne's, so the guys(+Jalen & Sarah) could go squidding. We stayed back at the house and Junne asked my mom to give us an apple pie making lesson.
Auntie Lynne wrote everything down, Auntie Julie closely observed and asked questions, Junne tried taking video, and I peeled apples(like I was trained to do).

The success in the night was at home with all the food, not out at the pier. Jalen caught 1 lonely squid out of the all of them. We enjoyed good food and apple pie.

Today, I was greeted with a message from Junne and pictures of her first and second apple pies!

Here's to Junne the next Food Network Star and of course her taste tester Jason, who said the pies looked mighty rustic, but ate them anyway and liked it....

Wonderful, relaxing Christmas Break

We had lots of family time. The boys enjoyed that we were home and it felt just as nice to us not to be at work.

Here's a not so great camera pic of Jacob's lumberjack look...He got Hard hat, goggles, and chainsaw from his ninong Joel and lumberjacket from A. Julie...Did they coordinate?

Jacob also had a very fun birthday weekend, even though he was sick. We brought a small group of friends to a puppet show and celebrated with family all weekend.

I can't believe he's 2 already. He didn't stay a baby long at all. He's also talking in complete sentances now.

Happy New Year to all!
