Color Dilema

I realized after, I looked at the color squares I completed...
What if the baby is a boy?
What if the baby is a girl?

I better work on unisex squares for now and then add pink later on.
Why can't boys like pink? Or rather
FUSHIA!!!

Knitted Patchwork Baby Quilt
(edited w/ corrections)
I've only finished 2 squares. But it will be a cute and fun and easy project for me.

Here's my pattern for one square:
Size 10 needles, Cotton yarn (I'm using Brown Sheep Co. Cotton Fleece 80% Cotton, 20% Wool, Nice and Soft!)

Cast on 34 Stitches
Garter Stitch for 2 rows
R3: K2, *K1, yo, Slip next st, yo, Repeat * till 2 stitches remain, K2
R4: K2, *K1, yo, Slip next st, yo, Repeat * till 2 stitches remain, K2
Repeat until piece meaures 5 1/2"
Garter Stitch for 2 rows
Bind off

Finished Square should measure 6" X 6"

The K2 at the beginning and end of each pattern row end up as a garter stitch border
The K1, yo, Sl next st. end up as the double stitch part. It should look like double layer of knitting w/ knit showing on both sides.(You can pull apart the two sides w/ a space in the middle) It's hard to explain until you actually try it.

I'm doing this in random bright colors, when I have enough squares, I'm gonna figure out how to join them. Probably just sew by hand and then crochet a lace border.

Pictures on my progress will follow.
